JavaNLP meeting notes for 05/14/03

We had a tutorial on the ie.hmm package (now part of the package comment)
and we had a round of updates (see below). Next meeting is next Wednesday
(5/21) at 4pm in Gates 498 and Kristina will give a tutorial on the POS
tagger.

Updates:

Chris: 
- only 2 classes left using gnu.regexp
- FactoredParser and LexParser now have same cmd line options

Kristina:
- added perceptron classifier, waiting for Dan to add threshold

Sep:
- have p2p sim code, maybe add to edu.stanford.p2p in cvs (ala pubcrawl)

Roger:
- improved discontinuous trees package
- have generalized tokenizer code (email us with details!)
- improved Chinese parsing

Cindi:
- cleaned up framenet code

Teg:
- cleaned up pubcrawl code, working on KDD

Huy:
- implementing Brand paper for HMM structure learning
